Instead of going for capturing a wider listenership Worldspace has chosen to deprive us the genuine listeners of the pleasure of a variety of exposurers. Feel justice not done .Suggest change the policy and make it cheaper to a wide ranging of listeners , worldspace will have no room for regret . The assesment of the Indian market was not done properly as is evident from the decision to withdraw. Pl. review. M.C.Borthakur.

Jayadoss, thanks for the comment. Valid point. But it wasn't so bad for Western music lovers - there was jazz, rock, pop, love songs, Classical etc. The lack of choice and cheaper alternatives wasn't so relevant for them.

Out of the 40 channels, there was just one single Tamil channel which combines every non-related genres from Cinema to Devotional music into a single channel. There was no expansion in the several years they were operating. It was natural that the cost of subscription for just one or two channels (out of the 40) was simply ridiculous. The end was certain when cable operators started relaying radio on their network. Suriyan FM reaches Bangalore through cable operators such as Hathway, so does the ad-free/talk-free Western Music radio channel DW-M. Also all the major Tamil radio players from Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Canada etc all stream their content for free, rendering the subscription-based radio service useless.

It is really pity that the World Space Radio has stopped working. Today moring when out of habit i started it, there was no buzz. And i realized that today is 31Dec. My heart was heavy and I hope not to have a normal day today. I am ready to pay anythig if the service is started ASAP. If someone has some news on the start, pleaseeeee forward the good news to me.
Regards.

WS Radio was useful for Elders (who used to Radio everyday) living in different state from their hometown. The local FM doesn't play the other Regional Language Songs

Especially when Elders can't/dont't know to operate the recent CD/DVD/MP3 players.

Hoping that the company will make alternate ways to make the instrument useful

We have grown up listening to World Space. Excellent channels & services, I can't understand don't we have any choice to stop from getting mute. FM is so boring. We have always loved to listen country,Orbit,Amore,Instrumental,Spin, Hop almost all of them.We r going to be the suffers as FM can never meet the WORLDSPACE. We wish & pray that it doesn't go mute.
